Spring Salmon Fishing
We have been extremely encouraged in the last couple of years by the number of spring salmon which have been running the river right from the beginning of the season. This has not been reflected in our catches because there has been hardly anybody fishing early on. Although we sometimes have high water at the start, conditions can often be suitable - even for flyfishing - from the Opening Day. Normally the weather is not that cold, & we never have grue (ice) floating down the river.
In order to have the quality of the spring fishing reflected in our catches, we have decided to offer FREE FISHING to everybody for February.
Opening Day
This year (particularly as the season opens on a Sunday) we will celebrate the New Season in style. Join us for a (free!) breakfast roll & coffee here at the Lodge, get your licence, any last minute bits & bobs of tackle, your allocated beat for the day & head out for a free day's fishing.
Back to the Lodge in the evening for a bit of "craic" & complimentary glass of mulled wine & buffet food to discuss the day's fishing.
Free Fishing in February
Free fishing & hotel/cottage accommodation at low season rates if required. Normally we only open the Lodge at the beginning of March, but this year it will be open on demand. Sure to be high when the fishing is free, so don't delay to book.
Brush up your technique or just improve your chances for a springer!
As another incentive to get people out on the river in spring, we are offering a FREE half day tuition or gillie to everybody (subject to availability) who makes a confirmed bookng for March or April before December 31st. Avail of tuition in any method including flycasting to any level, or just have a gillie for a few hours to give you that vital local knowledge which might just improve your chances to take that elusive spring salmon.
(Bookings must be for a minimum 2 nights hotel accommodation, 1 dinner & 2 days fishing & deposit received by Dec. 31).
