Prices seem a bit steep

Wow, I guess I am spoiled. I still can't get wrapped around the idea of having to pay to fish a section of water. Over here in Canada almost all water is public and there is no fee to pay to fish it, with the exception of a few private lakes, but they are very few. I find it very fasinating reading the posts, and learning about the fishing over there.

we can fish in scotland without paying as well but we call it poaching

Some very good brown and sea trout fishing in the Orkney islands absolutley free of charge, thanks to the Vikings.
