Hi, im new to anglersnet and, well after moving to Somerset 12 years ago from Ireland I have found my old fly rod and gear in the loft and want to take up my favourite sport again. Can anyone give me some ideas as to the best local Fisheries around Somerset, i dont want to join a club quite yet but a nice rainbow lake with reasonable day tickets would be wonderful this time of year. I can find quite a few but its an anglers word i need to hear. Can anyone help, Please?

Hi Andrew and welcome to the forum. I can't help with local fishing (I'm about 4000 miles too far west of you) but did want to say we are glad to have you.

Your'e quite fortunate living in Somerset as there are the Bristol waterworks reservoirs handy for you those being Blagdon and Chew further down towards Dunster you have Clatworthy and there's a couple more nearby the names of which just escape me at the moment.
The three I have given you will all provide superb sport....Enjoy!
