If anyone wasn't worried about MCZ's yet, they should be after reading that piece.

The bulletin says there has been too little time for anglers to study the areas in the sea proposed to become MCZs.

I wasn't aware that any areas had been proposed!!

Any body know of a list of proposed areas?
have I missed something or are they the areas Barry has been on about, Berry Head being one of them?

I wasn't aware of any proposed areas, either. Perhaps some people know more than they are letting on?

I've been told lately that not only will certain MCZ areas be No Take Zones, NOBODY will even be allowed to enter them.

If this is true, then we should be sending solicitors to these meetings before it's too late.

I would reckon that would be illegal under international maritime law, if they are suggesting such things the misrepresentatives should be up in arms.

It's always been a consideration, matey;

whether the approach has been useful in resolving conflicts or facilitating trade-offs (e.g. between public access and habitat conservation);

They would be, if it was actually going to affect any of them.

Anyone knows who the new fisheries minister is going to be, perhaps we can que up to lobby and ask for a few of these waste of space expensive quangos to be disbanded. Just to get our new government off on the right foot. biggrin.gif
